A Fashion Girl’s Guide to Mizzou and Downtown Columbia
The Hanger team is absolutely the coolest and I’m so glad I had that opportunity to get to hang with them for the summer! As an International Apparel Merchandising major, it was the perfect opportunity to expand my knowledge and delve into the wonderful world of social media.
During the semester however, I’m the Campus Influencer at the University of Missouri, so you’ll be seeing lots of posts related to college life and campus fashion trends coming from me this year! Aside from writing for Hanger, I am super involved on campus and absolutely love everything about my school! From all the student organizations I participate in, to tailgating and football games, I always am sure to stay crazy busy with all kinds the activities going on at Mizzou!
Today I’d love to share with you are some of my favorite things about the University of Missouri and my little college town of Columbia. For starters, we have a really amazing downtown area. It’s the perfect place to walk around on a nice, fall afternoon and take in everything Columbia has to offer.
There are plenty of cute boutiques to go shopping at and lots of funky coffee shops and cafes, perfect for refueling after an all-nighter! The best part about downtown is that it is located right on the edge of campus, so all of the restaurants and stores are only a few minutes of a walk after class gets out for the day.
The first place that I want to share with you is my favorite little place nestled right next to the record store, Uprise Bakery. I have spent many an early morning studying in this cute little place, with a lavender latte in hand. While Columbia has a lot of great places for coffee, this is my all time favorite place, because it’s located downtown and easily accessible before or after classes. It’s super fun and has an independent movie theater inside, too. Can you say adorable?!
The vibe of the downtown Columbia area is just so much fun and wandering around into new stores I haven’t been in yet is a great way to spend the day. From cute alleyways to ice cream parlors or antique stores, there is just such a quaint, cute, small town vibe that downtown Columbia gives off.
Downtown has the best selection of boutiques, whether it be Muse, Cha, Swank, Britches, and many others. There is always an adorable selection of tailgating gear that makes it so hard for me to pick out what I want to wear to game day!
