Freshman 15 No More
There are so many little tips and tricks to stay in shape in college, and most importantly, tricks that stay within that broke wallet of yours. Here are a four of my favorite go-tos!
1. Download a fitness app
There is an endless amount of fitness apps that are FREE! These apps will show you different workouts to try, as well as putting some work out plans together to fit your individual needs. My personal favorite is the Nike Training app. You can set what level of fitness you are and search through different workouts for a specific part of the body you’re wanting to work on. Download it here.
2. Spread the workout time throughout the day
30 minutes of cardio about three times a week is a good goal to have to stay healthy. In your crazy college life, it might be hard to set aside time during the day, but breaking up the cardio into sections will make it feel like less work and help it better fit into your busy schedule. When you wake up do:
- 10 jumping jacks before the shower
- 20 calf raises while you’re brushing your teeth
- After lunch do crunches to the length of your favorite song -no cheating!
- 30 squats after dinner
- 10 jumping jacks before going back to bed
3. Go to class in a cute gym outfit
If you’re already in a cute gym outfit, why not get a workout in between classes?
- Wear a pair of leggings
- Long flowy tank top
- Cute cardigan
- Tennis shoes in bookbag
4. Cheat Meal
Of course eating healthy is a key factor to staying in shape, but you have to treat yourself, too! Allowing one cheat meal or one cheat desert a week is always acceptable. Us women need our pizza and chocolate to survive in this crazy world.
